Blown In Cellulose Insulation
Attic Upgrade Services
A full attic upgrade is more than pulling a hose in and 'topping up' the insulation, potentially covering many issues that should be repaired to fully benefit from the installation of cellulose insulation.
“These guys went beyond what was expected and did a great job in re-insulating my home and stopping all the drafts. My home is comfortable now for the first time. Thanks Doug, Phil and company.” Continue.Al from Oshawa
Home NRG Savers will perform a full attic inspection to assess the full scope of work for an attic upgrade. Some of the upgrades to consider are sealing air leakage points like wire penetrations, plumbing stacks, light fixtures, and chimneys or even a full inspection of all perimeter wall insulation and venting.
Want the proof? Our certified energy advisors will perform an air leakage test on your home before and after the attic upgrade to measure the difference.
If the existing insulation is badly damaged or contaminated from condensation or animal activity, we use high-powered industrial removal equipment to fully remove the insulation with minimal disruption to your home.
Full removal creates easy access to all air leakage locations on the attic floor, which will be sealed individually or with a complete layer of spray foam. We then increase the total thermal resistance with blown cellulose on top of the spray foam.
Wall Injection
Home NRG Savers will seal an un-insulated older home without performing a major renovation by injecting cellulose insulation into the walls. Filling a typical 2x4 cavity can create a thermal resistance of up to R13, while completely reducing air leakage from the building, minimizing moisture issues, decreasing the noise from outside the building and reducing your heating and cooling costs. All without the unsightly seams required with batt insulation materials.
Cellulose Insulation Facts:
Environmentally Responsible – Made from 100% recycled wood products such as top quality newsprint, cellulose insulation is an environmentally sound product. Unlike synthetic fibreglass, cellulose is made from organic fibres with little potential for skin irritation.
Extremely Safe – Treated with a special blend of fire retardant additives, cellulose insulation will help protect your building against fire, insects, mould, mildew, and wood destroying fungi. Watch this video on the effectiveness of cellulose insulation when a fire happens.
High Quality – Made with the highest quality recycled newsprint, cellulose insulation provides a natural alternative to mineral fibre insulation. It is a relatively dense insulation that is much more effective at reducing air leakage than fibreglass insulation.
